Resident Evil Requiem has just received a free download that brings a highly requested feature from fans.
We’ve already been blessed with some fantastic games in 2026, and we’re not even finished with March. Not only have we been treated to the likes of Resident Evil Requiem, but also Pokémon Pokopia, Reanimal and much more.
Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best games inCapcom’s iconic survival horror series, earning rave reviews from critics and the community alike. It has a gripping story, fantastic action, intense horror, and it looks and plays great. Simply put, it’s an awesome addition to the series.
How Can Resident Evil Requiem Improve?
One of the ways Resident Evil Requiem has already improved is courtesy of its latest free update that’s available to download right now across all available platforms. Update 2026.03.27 has fixed the typical reported bug issues, but it does a little more than that.
For starters, facial expressions in the cut-scenes have been improved to better reflect the current situation at hand. However, perhaps the biggest feature of this update is the introduction of photo mode, and after a quick inspection, I can’t wait to see what the community comes up with.

To access the photo mode, pause the game and press Square (PlayStation 5), X (Xbox Series X/S). or Y (Nintendo Switch 2). Once in, you can select a variety of poses, most of which are unique to Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft. It also features plenty of expressions, screen filters, borders, and more.
Update 2026.03.27 will download and install the next time you fire up Resident Evil Requiem, unless it’s already done the deed while in sleep mode.

This free content update is not to be confused with the one that’s coming in May. While we don’t know specific details about the free Resident Evil Requiem content update, it does seem like we’re getting an additional playable mode. After that, we have the story expansion, which looks to star Leon. S. Kennedy once more.
Resident Evil Requiem is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
