As expected, a new batch of free games is available to claim from the Epic Games Store.

For those who don’t know, PC users are offered a new batch of free games every single week - and they’re yours to keep forever, no strings attached.

It’s a decent line-up this time around with two games available to claim that, in total, could save you over $30. Both titles should be available to claim worldwide.

A Cosy Colony Sim And a Top-Down Shooter Could Be Yours

Let’s begin with Havendock which typically retails for $19.99.

Developed by YYZ Studio, Havendock is a cosy colony sim where players will build a settlement at sea, transforming it into a home for castaways.

You’ll be able to create your own character before you set about farming, managing your budding society, crafting, inventing, exploring, and more.

Havendock landed around a year ago, so it’s a relatively new release; it’s impressed players since then, with a ‘Very Positive’ review consensus on Steam.

“One of the best cosy colony sim builders i played, love it [and] a colony on top of an endless ocean! Just perfect,” reads one positive review.

It’s well worth picking up as it’s free. You may not have time to play it now, but it’s a lovely low stakes play if you ever feel at a point in life where that’s the type of thing you need.

The second title available this month is Hyper Echelon from GangoGames which usually retails for $12.99.

This one’s a top-down shooter with a gorgeous retro-inspired, pixel art aesthetic.

“The Cyan Galaxy is in peril! Your trusty little star fighter and rag tag squad of wingmen are the only hope against the evil EXODON,” the synopsis begins.

“Level up from a pea shooter to an offensive powerhouse as you engage in frantic combat across many wondrous locales.”

Hyper Echelon originally landed in 2021 and takes inspiration from “arcade classics”, adding “its own authentic flavour of frantic tactical shooting action”.

It describes itself as being accessible enough for both newcomers and “hardcore players” and, as mentioned, it’s a feast for the eyes.

Hyper Echelon also holds a ‘Very Positive’ review consensus on Steam with one player calling it “a fun, solid shooter with some nice extra layers to it”.

The Epic Games Store’s free game line-up refreshes every Thursday, so you’ll want to grab these two titles before Thursday 2 April.

Next week will seemingly only bring us one free game, and that’ll be Clone Drone in the Danger Zone.
